Hauslo privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Hauslo makes pictures of rooms. You can design a room from photos and a few words, or furnish an empty room for a listing photo. This page explains what happens to your photos and the little other information the app needs.
Photos and words you send
When you make a picture, your photos and any words you typed (the look you want, what to keep or remove, the room and style) are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which runs on Cloudflare. Our server passes them to two services, waits for the answer, and sends it back to your phone:
- OpenAI receives the photos and your words and draws the picture. OpenAI says it does not use data sent through its API to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, or longer if the law requires it or it is needed to protect people from harm.
- Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI) receives the original and the staged photo when you stage an empty room, and checks that nothing but furniture changed. Anthropic says it does not use this data to train its models and deletes it within 30 days, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policies or by law.
Our server does not keep the photos you send to make a picture, other than the saved copy described next.
Your saved pictures (the Gallery)
When a picture is finished, the app saves it to your private Gallery so you can come back to it. We store the finished picture, the original photo it was made from (the main photo, not the extra reference photos of a design), a small preview, and the words with it: the description, keep and remove notes, title, room and style, and the result of the check. They are kept for 90 days unless you pin them, and you can delete any of them at any time. Only your phone can open your Gallery, and we do not browse saved pictures. We may look at one if you report it (see below).
What our server keeps about you
- A wallet: a random wallet ID, a secret code the app keeps (we store only a scrambled version of it) and your credit balance. It is not linked to your name, email address or Google account.
- Your phone's app ID (Android's ID for this app on this phone), stored only as a one-way scramble, so the free credits are given once per phone and cannot be reset by reinstalling.
- A recovery code, if you make one, stored only as a one-way scramble. It lets a new phone take over your wallet.
- Purchases: which pack you bought, the date, and Google Play's order number and purchase token, so we can confirm the purchase with Google and give you the credits. Google handles your payment details; we never see your card.
- Counts: how many pictures a wallet made each day, to apply daily limits.
- Short-lived counters tied to an internet address (for example, how many new phones started from one address in an hour), used only to stop abuse and deleted within a few days. Cloudflare, which runs our server, also sees your IP address to deliver each request and may keep standard request logs for a short time.
- Reports: if you tap Report on a picture, the reason you pick, anything you type, a short description of the picture and a link to the saved copy, so we can review it.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location or advertising ID. The app has no ads and no third-party analytics.
How it is used and shared
This information is used only to run Hauslo: to make your pictures, keep your Gallery, apply your credits and purchases, stop abuse and review reports. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except OpenAI and Anthropic as described above and Google for purchases.
AI pictures and labels
The pictures are made by AI and can be wrong. A staged photo carries the label “Virtually Staged” and a design carries “Design concept”. A design concept is not a photo of the property and should not be presented as one in a listing. Many listing services and some states require staged images to be disclosed, so keep the label on.
Deleting your data
In the app, open the menu and choose Delete my data to remove your wallet, credits, saved pictures, recovery code and purchase records from our server straight away. Credits cannot be restored after that. To ask us to do it, see how to delete your data. Google keeps its own record of your purchases under Google's privacy policy.
Children
Hauslo is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
